Installing Schlage B100 deadbolts |
| |
- Check the hole diameters.
Enlarge the holes if necessary.
- Installing the deadbolt.
-
|
Retract the bolt. |
-
|
Insert the deadbolt
into the hole in the door edge and fasten to the door
with 3/4" (19 mm) wood screws. |
- Once the deadbolt is in place, extend the bolt through
the bolt hole.
- Installing the cylinder bar.
-
|
For double
cylinder installation, place the outside and inside
cylinders on the door. Make sure that driver bars are
engaged vertically in the cam. Insert the mounting screws
through the inside cylinder and tighten evenly. Test
the lock with the keys in both cylinders. The bolt should
project and retract easily. |
-
|
For single cylinder
installation, with the key removed, place the cylinder
into the trim ring, security insert and escutcheon plate.
Guide the cylinder bar through the slot in the cam of
the deadbolt. |
-

|
Install the thumbturn
(on single cylinder only). Position the thumbturn onto
the cylinder bar. Use the thumbturn to partially retract
the bolt so that the thumbturn is vertical. Insert and
tighten the 2 1/4" (57 mm) mounting screws evenly
until they are snug (do not over-tighten). Test the
operation of the lock with the key and thumbturn. If
the bolt operation is rough or binding, loosen the screws
and check the assembly for proper contact of the cylinder
bar with the slot inside the thumbturn. |

|
Installing the strike assembly.
Place the reinforcer with the holes for 3" screws toward
the door stop. Mark and drill 3/16" (5 mm) holes for
3" (76 mm) wood screws. Install the reinforcer, strike
box and deadbolt strike in the order shown. Test the lock
with keys and the thumbturn. The deadbolt must project into
the strike without binding. Install the latch strike in
the lower hole. Secure both upper and lower strikes with
provided screws. |
