Installation
Programming/Operations
I do not know how to use the installation template that was provided with the programming and operations manual?
Cut the template where shown to create a section with the 2 1/8” hole and section with the smaller door-edge hole. Align the 2 1/8” hole of the template with the 2 1/8” hole on your door. Verify that one of the gray arrows extends exactly to the edge of the door. Using the remaining template with the smaller hole, select the side of the template that corresponds to your faceplate (square/round or drive-in). Align the hole of this template with the latch hole in the edge of your door. Verify that the latch hole and the two screw holes line up. Also, verify that one of the arrows for door thickness extends exactly to the edge of your door.
If a template does not match your door, you will need to determine if the door can be modified to match the template. If the door cannot be modified, then the lock will not work on this door.

What if my door is wider than the template?

What if my door is narrower than the template?

What if I do not have enough cable to pass through the door?
Remove the black plastic cover of the keypad assembly and pull the additional cable through.

Why won’t the keypad assembly install smoothly?
Verify that the rectangular bar of the keypad assembly passes through the opening in the latch. Note: The bar must not be over or under the latch. Additionally, be sure to verify that cables are not pinched between the keypad assembly and the door. Click here to view a short video of the install keypad installation.

Why doesn’t the mounting bracket sit flush on the door?
Verify that the rectangular bar of the keypad assembly passes through the opening in the latch. Note: The bar must not be over or under the latch. Additionally, be sure to verify that cables are not pinched between the mounting bracket and the door. Click here to view a short video of the installation.

Why won’t the thumbturn assembly fit onto the mounting plate?
The back of the thumbturn has a short post that must fit into a hole in the plastic cam at the top of the baseplate. Both the post and the cam have a flat spot. These flat spots must be aligned. Additionally, be sure to verify that the cables are not pinched between the baseplate and the thumbturn assembly. Click here to view a short video of the install keypad installation.

Why will the cables not plug together?
Verify the plugs are correctly oriented. The red wire on the first cable should line up with the red wire on the second cable.

What if forget some/all of my user codes?
If you do not know your user codes, refer to the Programming Instructions to learn how to use your 6-digit programming code. The 6-digit programming code allows you to delete all 4-digit user codes and re-enter new codes. If you do not know the 6-digit programming code, refer to the Restoring Instructions to learn how to restore your lock to its default settings. Note: The mechanical key override may be used to unlock the lock.

How do I clean the lock?
Use a damp cloth with mild soap.

What is the functional temperature range?

Why does the thumbturn spin freely when I press the button to lock my BE365 instead of allowing me to extend the deadbolt?
For full details, refer to the alternative settings (Code Lock) instructions. To correct this problem, remove the inside thumbturn and then remove the battery. Carefully re-check steps 5 – 11 of the installation instructions. During these steps, the latchbolt must be retracted (see installation step 5) and the cam must be pointed downward (see installation step 7) for the BE365 to operate properly.
If your BE365 appeared to stop operating properly and it has never been removed from the door, it may have been re-programmed to the alternative setting. The alternative setting
(Code Lock) requires a 4-digit user code for both unlocking and re-locking the deadbolt. To restore the BE365 to the factory setting (Turn Lock), perform the following:
- Enter your 6-digit programming code
- Press the
button
- Press the number “7” button
