Residential Finishes

Finish features:

  • Polished Brass/Bronze
Finish is produced by buffing or polishing the metal to a high gloss before applying a synthetic coating for protection.

  • Satin Brass/Bronze
Produced by dry buffing our scouring and then the product is coated or lacquered.

  • Chrome — Polished/Satin
A plated finish with a composition of nickel and chrome. The finish is long-lasting and ideal for use in damp areas, such as coastal regions, swimming areas, and steam rooms.

  • Anodizing
A process that forms a protective and uniform oxide on aluminum, giving it a hard, tough surface.

Ives benefits:

  • Since all finishing for Ives hardware is done in our manufacturing facility, in New Haven, CT, we can assure that the products we offer always match color.

  • Thanks to our ISO-9000 certification (the international standard for quality), processes are controlled to make certain all products are consistently produced and finished.

  • Ives uses an acrylic resin for a protective clear coating rather than a traditional lacquer. The result is a longer lasting and even finish, which does not contain volatile organic compounds that deplete the ozone like other lacquers do.
